The Flowers Of Hell are a London based collective of musicians who play experimental music that fuses classical and psychedelic influences and, in the live sphere, use visual projections in place of vocals. Think of mixing Beethoven, Spiritualized, & 'Video Aquarium' together and you're pretty much there. Loosely the aim of the band's constantly evolving sound is to create music that both takes the listener away and breaks some new ground sonicly. But they also try not to be too up their own ass or Hawkwind-ish about it all.

The line-up of the band is Greg Jarvis and whomever happens to be around him at the time that he's recording or performing. Present collaborators include post rock icon Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3/Spectrum/E.A.R. fame, Abi Fry who plays viola for British Sea Power, and theremin & clarinet player extraordinaire Miss Hypnotique amongst others.

Over the past 3 years tracks from the Flowers Of Hell have appeared on just under 2 million magazine & newspaper covermount CDs, making them one of Britain’s most popular coffee coasters. The group have also done the soundtracks for the award winning conceptual short films of multimedia fashion artist Anna-Nicole Ziesche who’s works have been shown at London’s V&A, the ICA, plus notable galleries across Europe.

The Flowers Of Hell are currently gearing up for the live debut of a new 20 minute piece they’ve called Temporary Exit, which looks like it’ll see it’s premier at Club AC30’s shoegazing/post rock/psychedlic night at London’s Water Rats theatre on July 12th. Their forthcoming album is entitled Z, although when & where that’s coming out remains to be seen!
