“If robots ever fell in love it would sound like this... a tiny pop empire” – NME
‘Don’t Be So Beautiful’ is the new single from London’s finest purveyors of twisted pop, Tears In X-Ray Eyes.

The song is a murder ballad in the classic tradition of Johnny Cash and Nick Cave – put through the X-Ray blender and ending up somewhere between Mercury Rev and the Cocteau Twins.
It’s another gem of “lovelorn lyrical sharpness” (Jim Alexander, NME) from the pen of singer/songwriter/producer Tim Closs (who is Tears In X-Ray Eyes).

“Lipstick like a butterfly, it took three goes to get it right
And nerves of steel to put on your pink high heels
You wrapped yourself in fairy lights and a tinsel skirt and stood wide-eyed
By the window sill, he went in for the kill
Better watch out 'cos I won't be surprised - if you end up in a car boot tonight
Next time, don't be so beautiful, so beautiful”

The single is also the opening track from the band’s 2nd album ‘The Way We Live Now’, released October 18th on Test Tube Records (XRAYCD04, distributed by Cargo).
