It's great when this happens. You're sitting there on a rainy Sunday afternoon (and we've had a few of late) listening through to the backlog of music that has been uploaded to our server and then, wham bam, up pops a total gem.

The band had only uploaded one track, though, which teased us into digging deeper...

Off to their website we went (www.monousich.com, they got bored with the restrictions and uniformity of MySpace a while back) and found we could download a bunch of other tracks. What glee spread across our faces.

The following day we emailed the band and they wrote back to say they'd just finished three new recordings. A clandestine meeting in a backstreet Soho pub (the Pillars Of Hercules if you must know) procured us a CDR of the new tracks and we fell in love all over again.

So here for you is one of those three new tracks but, honestly, we could have picked any of the others and you'd have been equally impressed.

Go to their website, sign up to the mailing list and then implore them to come and play near you.

Here's some of what they have to say about themselves...

"We're mon Ouisch from Wigan. Rob and Pete write the songs, sing and play guitars, Al plays bass and Liam plays the drums. We're into Blur, the Buzzcocks, The Cribs, The Jam, and a load more. We reckon there's no point being in a band and talking shit at people unless you're prepared to put your heart and soul into it and every one of us would die to get to where we want to be. We hope you're into our stuff - if you are then give us an e-mail and try to get down to one of our gigs. Nice one."
