Introducing Members of the Public – for every season, celebration and funeral
Forming in London in the summer of 2005, via such places as Middlesbrough and Portugal, Members of the Public have now settled in a disused abattoir on the outskirts of the capital.
Stages have been shared with The Sunshine Underground, Editors, The Rakes and Good Shoes, where Members of the Public have proved that if you see them the first time by accident, you see them the next on purpose.
This summer they begged, borrowed and charmed their way into Bark Studios to create their debut album with producer Brian O’Shaughnessy (Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine). Hewn from blood, sweat, heartache and handjobs, it is a record of contrasts – from menacing melancholy to urgent, frenetic pop...and some freaky happenings in between.
Members of the Public are Paul (Vox, Six Strings, Keys), Lee (Six Strings, Keys), Woody (Backing Vox, Harmonies, and a Broke Beat Kit), Franky (Four Strings) and Gaz (Six Strings).
You could be their best friend. After all, everyone’s a member of the public.
