Einstellung - Konstant (edit)

This edit of a track from Einstellung’s debut LP Wings of Desire (Chatterbox Records), captures the pop sensibility and powerful noise dynamic of a band who have been pushing the envelope with a sound they have christened “powerkraut.”

“The simplicity of Neu!...the noise and dynamics of My Bloody Valentine…something enormous that envelops your soul”Emma Lilley (The Fly)

A hypnotic drum pattern, a simple ebow lead line and breezy guitar builds melodic tension before the band clatter hell-for-leather through a heads-down thrash which scales a couple of peaks before finally exploding into a full on noise-pop monster.

Make that click, turn it up and let Einstellung take you on a sonic journey that you’ll wish won’t end.

“Einstellung’s greatest strength, the thing that sets them apart from all the other fucked up children of the world chasing the endless riff – it their inspired combination of repetition and variation. With perhaps a nod to minimal composers such as Steve Reich, the band work subtle changes (and sometimes not so subtle ones) into the music that keeps its natural velocity from turning into mere inertia.” (Drum Media – Sydney)

Einstellung are Steve Hough (ex Godflesh/Cable Regime) on bass, Simon Rider (ex Grover) drums, with Andrew Parker (ex Katastrophy Wife/Sally) and Andy Smart on guitar.

Einstellung is a phrase used to describe a process of personal choice to perceive the world through one's own eyes. It is often associated with German cinematography.

The news of Einstellung’s arrival has been spreading by word of mouth (always a good sign) since early 2004 as this fan reports: “I don't think I was expecting much, but after that first driving key change (??), I looked at my friend, who'd turned to look at me and we both made that 'oh-my-word-this-is-amazing' face to each other. We kept on doing that throughout the gig, and by the end of it, we were both buzzing. Long live Einstellung!”
