Just another bunch of overly-sensitive lost souls, or something a little special from the middle of the Oxfordshire countryside? We like to think the latter of Theremin. Something about them certainly caught the eyes and ears of Radiohead's Courtyard management since they immediately snapped the band up for a publishing deal.

The Radiohead comparisons might prove a little too irresistible for some, Theremin singer and songwriter Richard Walters is possessed of a distinctively cracked vocal style, from a whisper to a heart-rending falsetto. Not surprisingly Theremin exist in the netherworld of sweet, soulful guitar pop - at once dainty, fragile, histrionic and full of highly-charged emotion.

Likened to Coldplay attempting to scale the north face of Led Zep's `Kashmir', `In the Barn' is the debut offering from Theremin, quite simply a staggering new pop talent.
