BREAK THE LAW   BUY
Break The LawRelease Date: 24th Aug, 1998
Cat No: DISCO9808
Format: CDS

Sect are a collaboration between singer/dancer Solange and the UK's premier underground dance band The Secret.

'Break The Law' is a ground breaking 'avin' it fusion of punk attitude mashed with upfront millennium techno. But don't expect the track to be getting too much daytime play on Mellow FM on account of it's somewhat upfront "Break the law, break the fakkin' law" lead lyric. 'The Trance Pistols', anyone?

The Secret have been at the forefront of the Oxford dance scene for 5 years now, running the now-defunct Friday night Transmission club alongside DJ Remould.

The band have also been running their own Secret Records label for the last 4 years which has released a whole host of singles from the likes of DJ Remould, DJ Juno, Lab-4, and of course, The Secret themselves.

On Secret Records, the band released their debut album, which collects up some of their previous singles alongside new material. They launched the CD with a highly successful night at Brixton Academy back in May 1998. In fact over the past 2 years they have played 70 gigs to over 60,000 people and have had Radio 1 play on Danny Rampling's, John Peel's and Annie Nightingale's shows as well as press coverage in The Guardian, Mixmag, Wax, DJ Magazine and Eternity.

Meanwhile, Solange's list of credits includes working with such luminaries as Metropolis, Escape From Samsara, Megadog, Asian Underground Collective, Talvin Singh and Transglobal Underground.
