The Brainless of Morbius…
So, from the beginning: the earth cooled and then came the dinosaurs. And then The Ramones slew the dinosaurs and invented RockandRoll as we know and love it. And then they got old and boring and so Morbius had to break out of King's Lynn to keep the flame alive.
But of course they couldn't just sound like The Ramones although that wouldn't be such a bad thing all things considered 'cos there's loads of stuff far worse to sound like but anyway so they inherited their punk rock spirit and the idea that you can make fucking great music with just a couple of notes and one line of lyrics and an ear for some seriously low-down dirty punk rock nasty noise. And a love for ace 80s synth pervert Fad Gadget obviously.
And so, hissing and grinding as it goes, `RockandRoll' crunches along its merry way like a synth-punk disco Panzer division over the cobbles of capitalism and fake punk. An ugly, mindless, hypnotic dirge alone and angry in the tinsel-decked desert of niceness that Coldplay built with their own fair hands in art and craft lessons at school. `RockandRoll' didn't even go to school! That's why it's so stoopid! And noisy! And ugly! Cos it's too stoopid even to look in a mirror and realise that it's ugly and stay indoors out of shame! There is no shame in mindless ugly synth punk disco noise. There is only eternal bliss!
And if that don't grab you, you really are stupid. Grrrrrrrr.
