CALL THE DAY

This was the debut single from Guildford four-piece who have steadily been building a large following in Surrey. It's taken the Oxford-based label to recognise their talents and commit them to CD.
"Call The Day" is a slow-burning, skeletal blues-folk trip, punctured by monstorous pockets of turbulence with vocalist Inga's cracked and sultry voice, like a delinquent Liz Frazer, rising to a bitter snarl before being swept away by an avalanche of molten guitars on the mountain where Sonic Youth meet The Breeders. "Solar" is a more delirious pop racket, getting giddy and vicious on and The Pixies.
