Things That Go Twang In The Night...

Some discoveries you're better off not making. Like the moment an emaciated and paranoid Mia Farrow in 'Rosemary's Baby' discovers that her new-born baby is in fact the spawn of the Devil.

"What have you done to him, you maniac!" she screams, confronted by the hideous homunculus.
"Satan is his father, not Guy" replies the Satanist cult leader, "He came up from Hell and begat a son of mortal woman."

Poor old Mia, it was all a bit of a shock after nine months of knitting booties and inhaling Tannis root.

It's also the cue for you to make your own discovery: Eeebleee, a computer spell-check-bothering trio of musical demons from Oxford currently helping spearhead that city's musical renaissance alongside the likes of The Rock of Travolta, Meanwhile Back in Communist Russia and Six Ray Sun.

Stealing beats, movie dialogue samples and whatever else they can lay their hands on and teasing them into an eclectic whole that manages to straddle folk, dub, country, ambient techno and gospel, Eeebleee aren't just another genre-crunching attempt to throw everything into the pot to see what gels. First and foremost they're a simple pop band, as close to the likes of Dylan, Cash or Cohen as their more sampladelic kin.

The result of three refugees from different parts of the South Wales valleys meeting up in Oxford, sleeping in the local backpackers hostels, supported by the New Deal for Musicians and discovering a vibrant underground music scene in a city renowned for producing the occasional genius - musical or otherwise.

So discover Eeebleee for yourself, right here, right now. We promise a surprise marginally more pleasant than finding you've just mothered Satan's son.
