The Drez is a he rather than a they. Unwilling to let the truth get in the way of a good story, The Drez' personal history is a harrowing one; one involving an escape from a sinister circus and a life spent in slavery to middle management. What he will tell us that he is 27 and cool as fuck. And we'll not argue. Because he'll only come back with something facetious and make us feel small.
So anyway, one man in a home studio, you know the story. Heard it all before, right? But it's songs that matter and The Drez has them in heaps. He stacks them up in his head and lets them out in small, perfectly formed portions. And you don't even need to ask.
"You and Your Dog" is The Drez' debut single. As a demo it was played with frightening regularity on Sean Hughes' GLR show, such was the impact of the neo-psychedelic folk-pop sounds contained therein. It's a lullaby, but it's also a trip on a spaceship. It's "Revolver" born again in a 21st Century bedsit. Which isn't something you hear everyday, although many would boast as much. Are we boasting now, even? That's for you to decide.
